My name is Nona Meissner, and I have been teaching for 3 years. I graduated from Marshall High School and from the University of Texas at Tyler with a finance degree. After years of working in the finance/accounting field, I returned to my first career choice.....teaching! I have LOVED everything about my time as a teacher and am looking forward to another great year at Hallsville Middle School.
I am married to the love of my life, Monty, and we have 3 children. Morgan - graduated from Hallsville High School in 2008, Ty - 5th grader at HMS, and Kaylee - 4th grader at HIS. I love spending lots of time with my family. For fun, I watch Ty play baseball and football, watch Kaylee ride horses and swim, and I love to run. I ran 2 half marathons last year, and I am training for my very first full marathon this year. (26.2 miles),,,:)
I love to have lots of fun in my classroom!! I figure if I am not having fun, then the kids are not having fun, and probably aren't learning much. We WILL sing, dance, jump, yell, play games, etc...just about anything to get them excited about the math they have to know before leaving 5th grade.
